About Us

The People Behind the Name

For over a quarter-century, our standards were set by three industry leaders:

Tim Guidi

Built Phoenix from the ground up with the conviction to establish the company as trusted name, assembling a team that takes pride in their work, and setting the relentless standards that shaped our culture from day one. That team, and those standards, continue here today.

Carolyn Walsh

An international award -winning designer who defined the aesthetic and design standards that still shape Phoenix today. Through her work, she established a design philosophy grounded in function, real-world materials, and a refined eye for what works in actual homes - one we continue to live by.

Chris Guidi

With more than 35 years of experience across every facet of cabinetry, Chris built the processes and systems that drive our quality, efficiency, and client experience. He knows this industry inside and out, and continues to lead day-to-day operations at Phoenix, ensuring we are always improving and over-delivering.

Together with a core team of skilled tradespeople, they built Phoenix into a name that BC's top developers and homeowners trust.

Our history began in 1990 with a local shop called Kitchen Fantasy. When a fire destroyed the original facility, our founder, Tim Guidi, spent the next decade working to bring the vision back to life.

2000 - Phoenix was founded

On October 10, 2000, Phoenix Kitchenworks rose from ashes, built on a commitment to gathering the Okanagan’s finest tradespeople to build cabinetry that truly belongs in a dream home.

He continues to work with us today, ensuring that his years of expertise are built into every project we produce.

2019 - Truly Custom took flight

2019 - Truly Custom took flight

In 2019, Phoenix Kitchenworks integrated advanced engineering software to completely streamline our process. Backed by in-house engineering team, we improved our manufacturing tolerances by 90%. This leap forward means we can deliver on the promise of flawless custom work, hitting a precision of 1/10th of a millimeter to perfectly execute even the most complex designs.

2020 - A Creative Sanctuary

2020 - A Creative Sanctuary

In 2020, we moved into our current 14,000-sqft facility. We designed the showroom to be a stress-free, creative, and design-led space where clients can explore possibilities for their homes in comfort. Our shop is also built to be energy-efficient and climate-controlled, ensuring our production team has a comfortable environment to work in year-round.

2025 - New leaf

2025 - New leaf

The year marked a new chapter for Phoenix Kitchenworks as Tim and Carolyn moved into retirement. Nakul Sukhija, a hobbyist woodworker with a background in finance and law, became the owner and took charge of the company's stewardship. Nakul's goal is to keep improving our service quality while upholding the promise of truly high-quality and truly custom our clients have expected for 25 years. Chris continues to lead our daily operations and oversee all production processes.

We are our people.

Phoenix is built by the people at the bench, in the shop, and behind the drawings. Many have been here for decades, bringing experience, judgment, and care to the work every day.

We work with real materials, making deliberate decisions about proportion, detail, and fit, always with the finished space and the people who will live in it in mind.

This is the craft we’ve refined over 25 years. It’s how we work today, and how we’ll continue to build for our people in Okanagan.
